I just purchased a Panasonic AG HMC 150 and have a few questions to the pros out there. Can anyone give me a step by step guide to transfering my footage effectively you to my FCP - I have FCP 6 and nothing seems to be working.
Secondaly, can I export the footage from a card reader as well?
Best, Major Minerz

ok, I'm not real familiar with that cam, I'm an HVX200 guy but someone else bought one of those and had a similar question.
I'm pretty sure you use log and transfer but you have to make sure you go through all the menus in the camera and set it up correctly.
Like my camera has something in the menu that lets me set it to:
USB Device,
Firewire Device,
or
Host Device,
here's someone else's similar question, maybe it can help you out...

Make sure it's the latest fcp and just log and transfer. It will capture each clip and from there you can set up projects and sequences. Just make sure to transfer everything in the folders...

You'll need 6.0.4 to avoid the previous bugs with the HMC. this version seems rock solid and I've logged and captured over a 100 hours of footage with it thus far. The previous solution that worked the best for me was realtime capture with the intensity card. Since you have the mac pro you might want to look into purchasing it. A great inexpensive way to monitor your HD as well.
