okay so im looking to buy a dvx100a, but their are a few problems which im going to copy and paste

    Problems with this camera
There are 3 problems with this camera that just emerged last week right at the same time I purchases a new HD camera.
    1. The tripod thread at the base of the camera crack when screwing in my monopod. The part number for a replacement if VMD3345 and cost is about $12.
    2. I hear static through the headphones when I am recording and playing back. When this first started happening I thought it was recording in that manner, but when I play back the footage in my tape deck, there is no static on the playback
    3. The LCD screen flickers on occasion and it started doing this last week. Have no idea why.

There is no physcial damage to the camera and the lens is in great condition. There are no other problems with the camera other than what was stated above. There are 151 hours on this camera and it come with several items.

so yeah, do i risk it? and can anybody tell me about problems 2 and 3? quickly please

I suppose the acceptability of the risk depends on the price. If they want as much for it as someone who's selling a perfectly functional camera, then no. If they want only half as much, then maybe.

    avoid it.
you can find a lovingly cared for 100 without any issues- and at a fair price.

    why inherit abuse problems?
    keep looking.

    1. cheap fix to a common problem (for some).
    2. might be needing contact cleaner- or worse.
    3. ribbon cable is pinched (probably).

alright because im on a tight budget for a dvx100 (1k) and this one is on ebay. the current bid isn't going anywhere nad it comes with a matte box and 3 filters. i was wondering if the repairs were costly at all at the point where it would set me back a lot. the 1st doesnt seem bad, the 2nd doenst bother me in the function but that it oculd lead to further problems, same with the third.

also any experiences with these problems?
