Does anyone know if this will work with a 500?

If someone in the LA area has one to test with I can bring my 500 over. I would like to get a real HD viewfinder for my 500, color or not.

It will not work with the HPX500. The HPX300's viewfinder is not connected via a wire you can disconnect from what I recall.

Also the HPX500's VF is a standard def signal out so you'll never get a high def signal into the viewfinder. I think there is a bigger viewfinder you can buy for the HPX that could help, its not cheap($2k-3k i think), color, or high def, but I think its a bigger screen and a bit easier on the eye.

I have a HPX-500. I replaced the viewfinder with the "upgrade" 2" viewfinder. It is much better optics and a much bigger CRT with a 16x9 image. The HPX500 ONLY puts out a SD signal with a B&W image. But I think it was worth the upgrade (I bought mine used for $500)

One other caveat, when the viewfinder is in the 16x9 mode, the flip out LCD shows a squeezed image because it's a 4x3 screen. If the output to the LCD is changed to LB mode, the viewfinder shrinks down to center punch mode.

    Hope this helps!
