Got a problem with my DVD exports, wondering if you guys had some insight...
I shoot in 24p, edit in 24p, and export as DVCPro720p24. I have been burning to SD DVD via Toast 8 for about a year now with no issues. However, I just burned a disk this morning and played it back on a 32 inch LCD TV and footage seems to drag and skip. That is, even on the super slow pans and zooms, the footage jerks as it zooms. Even on zooms I created in FCP where I'm zooming into a photo or something.
I re-exported to dvcpro720/24p and noticed that the resulting QT file is recognized as DVCPRO 720p60 , not 720p24. I tried exporting as PRORES and it still comes up as 60.
Even video I shot in SD is having the same jerking issue on the LCD TV.
Anyone have any idea? Is it an LCD refresh issue?

So I shot the whole piece in slow mo (48frames) so that would explain the 72060 right?
But I'm looking at other projects I shot, in 24f, and they are 720p60 when I look at the item properies in FCP.
So with that info, how should I avoid the strobing? Should change my timeline to 60, or export as 60? thanks

if it says the native footage is 720/60 then u trying to convert it to 24 frames is probably causing the strobing issue. try to export it out natively, matching ur settings to to what your footage is, then put it out as uncompressed before converting it to a dvd. that way you have a clean slate footage to work with and u can start troubleshooting from that point.

Thanks for the help xmephestox... my original DVD was made from a native 720p60 export ( I originally exported as "current settings") My sequence is a 720p60, there is no option to change sequence to 24. I'll try the uncompressed export and see what happens...
