www.imdb.com says:
Camera
Arriflex 535B
Moviecam SL
Sony HDTV Cameras (interview segments)
Laboratory
Cinesite, London, UK
Film negative format (mm/video inches)
35 mm (Kodak 5289, 5279 and 5274)
Video (HDTV) (interview segments)
Cinematographic process
HDTV (1080p/24) (interview segments)
HDTV (1080p/24) (master format)
Spherical (source format)
Printed film format
Digital (Texas Instruments DLP 1280 x 1024, 1.5 : 1 anamorphic)

As far as that really cool effects:
I belive they shot 45 degree shutters and did some wonderful POST effects to give it that WW2 feel. Combat footage is handheld (you know, doc style)

Black Hawk Down, Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan all have this look (shutter speed anyway). It is popular.
Arri is a good camera (better be for a half million dollars) :-/
