My client hired me to produce a video, "Acoustic Treatments Exposed", in which we hired an ecdysiast to give a presentation full of puns, metaphors and inuendo, all presented in a very sexually-humorous manner. By the end of the video, the gal is totally naked, frontal and backal nudity (to quote Newton Minnow's 1962 FCC speech on nudity on television). There is no sex in the video, just nudity, supporting a cleverly-written script which makes use of visual puns to augment the points made about acoustic treatments.
The obstacle my client is running into is finding a site which will host the video. Vimeo won't take it, nor will XR, or YouTube, because of the nudity.
He can't host it on his company server, because if 100,000 people hit the video at once, it's going to take them offline.
So we're looking for another "Vimeo" substitute that supports 720P high def and allows nudity-perhaps an offshore hosting site.
Does anyone know of such a site and has anyone else faced this challenge and what have you done to solve it?

Sorry, cannot make any suggestions of a specific video hosting site, although I would think any of the thousands of services that host porn wouldn't have an issue with it.
I must say though, I can't think of a more unsuccessful concept for selling a fairly mainstream product like acoustic treatments to professionals. This sort of t&a advertising is becoming less and less popular with people in our business, especially as more and more women are in the business. Seems like your client is taking a pretty big gamble of offending potential clients, it's not Mad Men and 1962. Just my opinion. I have nothing against nudity or sexual humor, but I think trying to sell products that are not sexually humorous with it is a mistake. But hey, as long as the check cleared and your client is happy, more power to you.
DanAlways spending money on more gear! It's a sickness.

The client has looked into some of the porn hosting sites, but discovered that:
a: they're peppered with ads for... porn
b: the quality is very low res and grainy
Now he's contemplating $100/month to host it on a dedicated server, separate from his company's server.
I agree with you on the concept of sex in advertizing. The concept didn't really appeal to me, but it was an opportunity to do something unusual and very different from the kinds of shoots I normally do.
The client is good for the money and is a friend of mine who owns a successful company. The video is not directly tied to his company, but is being released into the wild as a 'viral video.' His company's products appear in it, and the dame is extoling the virtues of having these acoustic treatments, demonstrating what happens when you don't have the devices installed by using various parts of her anatomy in clever and interesting ways. We had a very big comedy writer create the script and he directed the acting during the shoot.
I had a chance to get creative, using green screens, graphics and good old cinematography to make this thing happen. It's really got good production quality, but it's a cheap shot at women, which I feel is not the best way to market. The client believes that only 2% of his clients are women, as is likely the case with the viewership of the video.
The client has spent thousands of dollars on the making of the video so far and we're a few days from release, but for the lack of a place to release it.
It is interesting to note that a number of people involved in the production did not want their real names used in the credits!

Try Metacafe. They allow nudity. Don't ask me how I know that.

What kind of player do they use? I can't get any videos to play on that site. I even added them to the 'trusted sites' list and they still don't play. Do they support 720P streaming HD? The client stipulated that as a requirement.

Please post a link once it is live, if you can. I really want to find out how such a wild concept turned out.

- Middle of the woods in Georgia, where on a quiet night, you really can hear banjo music...
It sounded really good, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch the video due to playback issues. Likely my machine's fault, it is older. What I could watch was pretty funny though.
