FADE UP
( CU-Thirty-something man sitting at his desk. He picks up the phone and dials.)
“ Hi..Boss…. Hey, I’m feeling a bit under the weather today. Don’t think I’ll be in.”
“OK…I’ll try to make it in tomorrow.”
CUT TO
(He faces his computer and opens UPS Tracking web page. OUT FOR DELIVERY!
He smiles.)
CUT TO
(It is now two hours later and the big brown truck pulls up into his driveway. The driver unloads two big boxes from the back of the truck.)
CUT TO
(The camera zooms into the distinctive B&H packing tape wrapped around the biggest box.)
CUT TO
(CU-Static shot of the mans face. A single tear runs down his cheek.)
END
Does this story hit home? I just wanted to say that this group has truly added to the pleasure of getting my camera. It’s so refreshing to see a site as dedicated to the ART of film making as well as the technical aspects. Not a day has gone by since I received my DVX that I haven’t logged on just to see what new tip or technique has been posted. THANKS FOLKS.

Am I wrong here, or do all we thirty-somethings wish this technology existed when we were 12? :o

Oh god yes! I grew up always loving film, but realized fairly early the high cost of film (even 16mm). I always heard of the days of Copola, De Palma, Lucas, Spielberg, Milius etc kind of working together and hanging out...
Now, with DV and the internet, we can make films! YES!

Well,
I am reading "Rebel with out a Crew" for the 50th time and I still get inspired by the power we have in our hands combined with the support of our fellow filmmakers.
It is now so possible to transcend the existing high profile approach to filmmaking, with alittle bit of money and alot of imagination.
DVXUser is truly a special and respectful forum for all things cinematic. Thanks to all the smart and open minded people so willing to provide answers to us ...aaahhh hacks.

I'm obviously not the most technical dude when it comes to the DV arena (although I am learning) but I do like to think I can contribute from a cinematic standpoint or the art of it all!
