The story has to be told through someone else's eyes ... it can't be their story.

PsycheFest - Films emphasize the psychological motives behind the characters.

LieFest - Stories that unfold due to a lie that was told to or by one of the characters.

SinFest - Stories related in some way to one or more of the seven deadly sins.

MythFest - Stories that deal in fables and mythology. The author could invent a myth of his/her own as well.

WhatIf-Fest - Films that explore a single "what if" about the world we live in. "What if we could communicate with a deceased loved one once a year on a special day?" "What if all the boulders in those woods are actually ancient trolls that were exposed to light?" Etc.

I like the idea of something like LieFest in which there's a central device to all the films in the festival. You could easily expand on this idea. PromiseFest could be a series of stories based on promises that were made and broken, or promises that were kept.

I realize you are joking, but I should clarify my earlier comment. There is no lack of women ON CAMERA. I am commenting on the lack of women BEHIND the camera in major creative roles such as director or even writer.

But, yes, your efforts have not gone unappreciated, Zaza!

LMAO... you are the BEST AmyO!

...and I agree, it's always nice to have a woman behind the camera!

They usually say at the end of the previous fest. But sometimes it all goes quiet until your just about to give up and go do something else. Then they tell you. Several poeple went off an did their own thing last time there was a long delay, hopefully this delay wont repeat the process.

I like the theme. Though one problem is that it's going to make it hard to surprise people. If your main character is bad then it's too one note. If your character is good then we're expecting them to become the villian.
