JVC announced at IBC 2008 that it has allied with Sony Corp. in support of the XDCAM EX MPEG-2 professional video format and SxS solid-state flash storage technology. The first JVC product featuring native XDCAM EX file recording and an SXS card slot is the KA-MR100G, which docks with JVC's ProHD GY-HD200/150 series of cameras.

This can only mean that more third party SxS cards will develop. I just hope prices plummet soon. It's tough to work with just 2 8gig cards.
