The question is too vague, there are literally hundreds of lenses for each mount to compare. A simple answer to your question would be no, as there is definitely equivalent lenses in terms of optical quality within each mount.

Zeiss lenses are in general sharper than Canon.
And they're more expensice, too.
I heard people complaining that they're actually too sharp, seriously.

I have an FD mount Jena zoom, it's not sharper but the build construction is impressive and I prefer the bokeh.
They aren't fast lenses and I believe they're built by Cosina or a similar co. in Japan or China.

The Jena lenses were made in Germany by Zeiss. Only the newest manual focus SLR lenses are being made by Cosina in Japan. The Jena lenses may not necessarily be sharper than Canon lenses, though old Zeiss wide angles are superior to Canon lenses from the same era. Your best bet is to research each individual lens. In the end though it is probably a good idea to get a complete set of lenses from one manufacturer so that they match more closely.

Marco, the Jenas in the 70's were asian imports. Mine even has a made in Japan sticker on it.

There were Zeiss lenses made by Kyocera in Japan, mainly for the Contax Yashica mount. But if you have a Jena lens for the M42 mount I can pretty much guarantee it was made in Germany. What mount are your lenses for? I don't know about the lenses you speak of but I believe you.
