    SCRIPT FEEDBACK GUIDELINES

Writing is hard. Itís a very personal and humbling thing to do. Itís an activity that you do alone and because of it we take our work and criticism of it very personally.

That said, the only way we can get better is with honest feedback. So, a few guidelines to help things proceed smoothly:

    1. Be honest but use tact when giving people feedback. Don't start your feedback out with "Your script sucks."

    2. Be specific. Let people know what you like, and let them know what didnít work for you. It doesnít help someone to simply say you donít like something, but it does help them when youíre specific and say ďIím not sure what your main character wanted in X scene.Ē Or, ďI didnít understand your character because I didnít know enough about him.Ē Or, ďI didnít understand your story logic, for X/Y/Z reasons.Ē

If youíre not comfortable giving public feedback, you can send your feedback to me and Iíll post it anonymously in the thread.

    Isaac

Isaac, I have some feedback. I didn't understand your posting logic, for X/Y/Z reasons.

We had such excellent feedback across the board with Scriptfest I that I'm expecting Scriptfest II to be an equally rewarding experience. That is a testament to the caliber of people on this site.

I'm totally pumped for this and I agree the feedback from the first fest was very enlightening. I guess I'll see if I really learned anything from it or not

Just put him on your ignore list. I'm going to do that with all bad reviews. That way when I look over my thread I'll only see the good ones, if any.
