Welcome to the dvxuser.com LoveFest 2008!
We've got a really interesting mix of films for this fest and as usual-- it's a treat getting to watch the amazing work you guys produce. I was pleased to see these films showcase some very solid performances by your actors. Screening the films late at night, I always appreciate the films that make me laugh out loud--some light and some bitter--just like love. Regardless of how the voting turns out, we all appreciate the huge amount of work it takes to complete and submit a film--all of you have our admiration and respect.
I'd like to thank all the participating filmmakers, our users, the mods, and Jarred and Jason for letting us all run run the fests on this great site. Totally inadequate thanks to Larry R, our Technical Director, for screwing together our system including a brand spankin' new voting system to prevent me from only picking the films with the hottest actresses as winners.
Thanks to all our generous mirror provides for letting the love flow over their bandwidth.

LoveFest Voting Instructions
Who is eligible to vote?
All current dvxuser.com members with 100 or more posts, plus all submitting filmmakers regardless of post count. This applies only to the filmmaker that submitted the film, not the whole crew.
How do I vote?
Using our new automated system (thanks Larry!) you'll vote for your top 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices for best film. You must vote for three different films for your vote to be counted and you may vote for your own film. All votes are kept completely confidential. The voting link will be posted in a few days.
How are the votes tallied?
Points are awarded to each film as follows:
1st place vote -- 3 points
2nd place vote -- 2 points
3rd place vote -- 1 point
How are the winners chosen?
We'll annound the top three films based on the total number of points they received. We will not announce the point totals for any films. Keep in mind that a film may be well-liked, but not considered as one of the top three films. Your best source of feedback is your individual film thread. There are always some high quality films that don't necessarily have a broad appeal.
Congratulations to all the filmmakers that submitted entries and thanks to all the members participating.
When does voting start and end?
Voting will start in a few days and you'll have at least a week to vote.
NOTE: Dead Beautiful, Constance, and Love Exists (listed in the bottom box on the download page) are for exhibition only--there will be no option to vote for these films.
Next Fest
We'll announce the next fest as soon as voting ends for LoveFest.

Woooooooohoo!!
This will probably have been fixed by the time I type this but so far I've found a couple of nonexistent links:
Winter, A Fairy Tale
and
Love (Ted Arabian)

I just tried them and they worked for me. Sometimes, if you don't get it to work the first time, just try it again.
Reason being:
Larry's system is randomly hitting the different mirrors, so while there may have been a problem during the transfer with a film to one mirror, that is not the case on the other mirrors.
Example:
I just tried Winter, A Fairy Tale, and it began downloading fine for me
Hope that helps a bit.

Jason
