I work in an environement where the HD standard is 1080/60i 35vbr, so the HQ 1080/60i is the correct setting for me on the EX1.
So when I want to make a speed change, I have to stay in the 1080 family of
record formats which limits me to 1080/30p. I can't use any of the 720 formats because of the difference in screen dimenions.
When I go to 1080/30p, turn on S&Q motion, I have a maximum frame record rate of 30. That doesn't seem to end up giving me slo motion. I can dial the frame rate down to 1 and get fast motion, but not slo motion.
Am I doing something wrong or is it simply not possible to acheive slow motion
with the EX1 if I am forced to stay with the 1080/30p setting because of my HQ 1080/60i in-house format limitations?
Thanks for any input.

30 is the highest frame rate the EX1 will record at 1080p.
720 Upscaled is not a bad solution, though. It goes to 60.

So amy I correct that since 30 is the highest frame rate in 1080, I'm not going to acheive slo motion?

That is correct. 30fps played at 30 is normal speed. Recording slower just makes things play faster.
If you play back at 24p (which doesn't sound like an option at your company) you will get slight slo-mo.
But if you record at 720p at 60, and up-res to 1080, you will get some pretty good looking slo-mo.
