If I shoot with the mini 35 adapter, what aspect ratio will I get on regular TV when I burn the footage onto a DvD?

You'll get whatever aspect ratio you set the camera in. If you shoot in NORM, you'll get 4:3 video. If you shoot in SQUEEZE, you'll get 16:9 video.

Let me see if I'm getting this straight, Mr Barry.
If I set the camera in squeeze mode and shooting with mini 35 I will get the 16x9 aspect ratio. What happens afterwards when I send it into FcP?
I will to have captured the fottage at anamorphic, correct.
If so, does this mean that I will be able to match images shot with the mini 35 with images shot with the 16x9 anamorphic?
Also, in either situation will I be able to use a 16:9 monitor to see the image unsqueezed, in its final aspect ratio?

Yes you are correct on all counts. Except that it might be a little tough to match DVX Anamorphic footage against mini35 Squeeze footage... the aspect ratios will be compatible, but the images will look very, very different and they may not intercut too well.

I see...
The images may not intercut well because of the depth of field factor or because the mini 35 affects the picture quality in many other aspects altogether?

Both. Mini35 footage is quite a bit softer overall, and there's a really nice texture and glow that occurs on mini35 footage, that you don't get on regular DVX footage.
Although you could probably simulate the softening/glow attributes of the mini35 on your other footage. So if you're willing to work with your footage in post, you could probably get them to the point where they'd intercut pretty well.

Thank you again Mr. Barry you are very helpfull.
Unfortunately FCP is very new to me and I don't know the amount of work that would take to make changes on my footage in order to do the proper match.

With ps 35 what aspect ratio will I get tv
