Just been informed that Barry Green was doing a convention in Brisbane a few weeks ago. This is one thing that really pisses me off about Panasonic. If we had known about it we would have flown over for it. Since buying our HPX we have heard nothing from Panasonic, even though Ive registered the Camera. Compare that to when I bought a DSR450 from Sony we constantly got updates on support, products and events. This maybe a Country/State only issue, but Id like to how others are finding Pana support.
Great Camera though!![]()

I agree completely - I still get updates and info from Sony and I haven't owned a Sony camera for over 4 years... Same with Canon -
There was a firmware update for the HPX500 shortly after I purchased it and I've never been able to get the download to work, and have had no support from Panasonic.. Jerrod at Ables (where I bought it) offered assistance, but I haven't had time to follow up yet... Point is, I wouldn't even have known about the upgrade if it wasn't on this forum...
And I've never received any hard confirmation that I do in fact have a 5 year warranty... I jumped through all the hoops and got an email response, but since then, zip - Canon sends out a membership card with a customer#.

Although it did take 4 weeks, I finally did receive confirmation and a certificate.
When did they release the update?

I purchased an HPX2000 in May. I received a personal call from the Panny rep in Atlanta. informing me to register my camera for the 5 yr warranty. and also to contact my dealer in Charlotte WH Platts about replacing a board that they said could have a bad solder. I am pleased with this attention.

I agree with the lack of service. I have a hvx-200 that had audio issues. A ticking sound. I sent it back to my dealer and they sent it to Panasonic. A so called engineer said some noise was excepted in that camera. Never mind I had shot for 6 months before that with no problems.. He was suppose to have done some small adjustment that would fix it. I got the camera back and still had the problem. SoI sent it back to my dealer and they had their tech look at and decide it was unexceptable. So to keep me working they sent me a new camera and dealt with panasonic themselves. If had not been for my dealer I have no doubt I would of had problems.. Fyi my dealer is armatos in New York. They were great to work with on the purchase and support during the warranty issue.
