hey , does anyone know about the CINEGAMMA feature on the z1u? Does anyone know if its the same as the "cinelike" options on the dvx & the hvx? Or is it like another cheap , fake feature like Cineframe. I would like to know if it actually makes a difference in the final footage you see on tv.
Is it better?
does it look like film gamma?
does anyone use the feature?

From what I remembered it crushes the black and midtone a bit. I always had it on when I used the FX1. It won't automatically make your footage "film like" but since crushing the black is a common CC method I guess it's one way to do it in camera. Of course this does take away some latitude from the camera, and you might want a flat image to do CC on later.
