That's the thing. Even an SD DVD looked really good. Cannot wait to project the 1080.

Man it was awesome to see in a theater. So glad I went.

The place was packed front row to back row.

IMHO I think Mark's film was easily the best / most engaging / best executed story, and there were films from all over the world there.

There was one film that was very polished and had lots of potential and some interesting moments - might have even been shot on film, but it didn't come together or payoff as well as Mark's.

The projection off the DVD looked and sounded great.

I've heard that when they tested the atcual resolution films were projecting at in theaters - after being transferred, copied, projected slightly out of focus on occasion the actual resolution was a little less than HD to SD.

There's lots of pre year 2000 movies, particualrly horror films, I'm seeing in HD cable on Monsters HD that were never meant to be seen in that clarity. Super clean single reprints optimized and remasterd to 1080 and shown on a largish super clear screen 10 feet away from you. Some makeup choices and things would def. have been done differently, budget allowing.

But there was plenty of resolution to be had and the colors looked great.

Even the crappy SD intelaced mumble core films (crappy in terms of tech) did not look soft or like they were wanting for resolution, only color and lattitude.

Anyway, like I said, really glad I got to enjoy this film in the way the medium is actually intended to be experienced. On a big screen where you can concentrate on it with the lights down with a bunch of other people and NOT in the middle of trying to watch 70 other movies over the coure of a couple of weeks.

Also hear something about 1K being used a lot because 4k is freakishly too sharp for our eyes projected at that size.
