Why do you need permission for the Dolby logo? If it's encoded in Dolby then why do you need permission to stick it on the label?

Yes. Id really like to know why we need permission for that. You buy a mercedes. Your a famous personality. Someone interviews you about your lifestyle. You cant tell them that you own a merc ? You bought it,,, you can flaunt it right ? We buy a NLE which has a licensed Dolby Digital Encoding. But wait a minute you cant advertise that your edit suite has dolby mixing facilities ? You have indirectly paid for the facility/encoder. Why cant we say we have used it ? I still really dont understand the logic behind what these companies or associations enforce.
