Hi,

We are putting together a remote studio and are looking at cameras with HD and SD SDI out. We are down to the HPX500 and the JVC 250. The reason the JVC is still in there is the availability of a CCU.

My hope is to get the HPX and use the AJ-RC10G Remote Control Unit for remote iris control. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of setup? Jan has answered my question and said it would work (Thanks Jan!).

Here are the competing camera packages
GY-HD250U Professional HDV Camcorder $9000
Th17X5BRM FUJINON 17:1 HD ZOOM LENS $3,300.00
RM-HP250AU ProHD Camera Control Unit $3,495.00
RM-LP25U ProHD Local Remote Unit $3,995.00
KA-HD250U STUDIO ADAPTER KIT FOR GY-HD250U $3,000.00
$22,790

VS

AG-HPX500 camera body $12,500
Fujinon XA17x7.6BRM-M58B 17X CAC lens $6600
AJ-RC10G Remote Control Unit $4000
$23,100

What kinds of controls am I going to miss out on without a true CCU?
Does anyone foresee other problems?

If I can make sure it is all going to work ok, I hope to get the Panasonic cameras for obvious reasons.
