Today i ordered my HVX200E with a 16GB Card.
Instead of a Firestore i want to use an iBook or MacBook for direct to FCP (or Capturemagic) recording.
Now the question:
Is the internal 5400 RPM disk enough fast to record a DVCPRO HD stream without drop risk? (supposed i set up the Mac at it's best)
Is an iBook enough? (1GB RAM)
Thank you very much.

You cannot record to the start up drive of any computer. It is a guarantee for dropped frames. Your best bet is a MacBook Pro with Express34 sata card to external SATA hard drive.

Thank you, and where will the sata card attached? Using one FW for camera and the other for HD (only latest Mac Book Pro wouldn't be a good workflow?

Express34 card goes into the slot in the MacBook Pro. Then attach external SATA drive to the card.
I really do not recommend an iBook or MacBook for FCP.
