I have a project already on a ntsc timeline (30p) that I need to make a copy DVD that will play in GB in the PAL format. I am not being paid for this so they can't fire me, but I would like to do a conversion that will be watchable. Does anyone know how to do this? I have DVDSP2 if that helps. :-/

I believe many PAL DVD players can play ntsc stuff (tho usually not the other way around). Also in FCP, you can change the sequence settings to PAL and render it out. I've done a PAL DV to NTSC DV conversion this way and it worked fine.

Jive is right, DVD is not standard dependant. PAL<=>NTSC bidirectional plays either way, I do this all the time for the Japanese / European market region 2. The only time you will have problems is if you region protect the source, then playback will be an issue. One more thing to bear in mind is that Transcoding from within FCP, PAL<=>NTSC is not a good idea, it will work, but the price is quality. If you must transcode, get this process done by a post house, they have hardware costing $$1000's for this.
