    Hi,

I am trying to achieve an X-RAY effect - like at the airports going through the metal detector - shows up all your baggage in negative video (not sure how to describe it) but the same as a typical x-ray effect.
Is there some sort of plugin to acheive this medical effect ?

Or maybe its possible to do already with the the fcp plugs - if someone could enlighten me ;)

    Cheers

you could easily just use the "negative" effect to give it that sort of look, and i would subtract all the red from it then so that its only blueish green..maybe even remove the green too. but as far as actually seeing through somthing, your stuck with the only option of using a real x-ray scanner.

Actually - sorry - I meant just the negative effect like - looking at real negatives on a roll of film.

but without the high white & colors & more like a roll of film.

I want to be able to simulate a camera flash that as well as some freeze frames of negative roll.

..oh, yeah for that you can just use a "negative" effect filter, or you could just play with your color corrector until you have the desired negative look that you like . once you take the values below 0 for a color value, most nles will display the negative color. so you can tweak out the exact negative look you like that way. film negatives are more reddish than blue, and you could probably just kepp the blue channel closer to 0 and pump up the reds and greens to negative values, and get pretty close to that film negative look. i would probably increase the contrast a little, and pending where your black levels were before, make sure they arnt milky at all by using the "levels" adjustment filter (which you can also do in the color corrector filter most of the time..pending your nle)

i dont actually use final cut pro. i dont know if they call it that or not , im just assuming that it has that effect to begin with so sorry for the confusion, but agin, you could just use the color corrector, and negative color values if there is no preset filter for the effect.

I believe it's called "invert". It's in the Channel submenu of the Video Filters menu.
