Does anybody know the correct settings for a reverse pulldown of 24p advanced footage on Final Cut 4.0 .
I pulled it down using the 23.98 capture setting and it combs/aliases when set to anamorphic for some reason. I'm not sure if I should set the capture Frame rate to 29.97 (since that's what the panasonic is sending), but when I do, Final Cut crashes every time. If I look at the stuff that combs on the sequence and project in Quicktime, there is no combing.

..most of the time that combing /aliasing is the result opf the nle running the dv stream through some realtime encoder so that you can view all sorts of effects on the stream and keep it in realtime. if it looks fine in quicktime or other media players, its fine. ppro does this too, as well as other nles, and even somtimes my matrox card will do it a bit . i dont use final cut, but its a common issue. although capturing in 29.976 should work fine..

You are editing in a 23.98 timeline, right? There should be no combing or interlace issues if you removed the advanced pulldown on capture, and are editing 23.98.
Make sure you're up to date on all your software (FCP 4.1.1, QT 6.5, etc.)
