I export my video from Final Cut Pro as a reference Quicktime movie.
Then I use Squeeze to compress - 384K stream to make a .flv file.
It plays very nicely and I've rarely had anyone say they can't watch, but quality-wise, I wish it was clearer...
When I look at the trailers on Apple, they're so clear and beautiful. Can I get my .flv files to look that good?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Can you get your FLV files to look as good as Apple trailers (that use H.264)?
No, you can't, not unless you can get hold of as high quality source as they do (usually direct from film as uncompressed) and employ some great compressionists.

If you're constrained to flash video files, check with your web guy to see how far you can push the data rate. Instead of a 384k stream can you generate an 800k stream? Generally I push it too far until they make me dial back the data rate. It's a game we play. Data rate is a key concern with regards to quality. The last time they asked me to keep the files under 500k I gave them files that were 499k.
