Right out of the chute and everything looks very cool. Love the official Cristo "C" logo.
Very fond of those thin lap pools, too, b/c of a previous film we did.
Looking forward to seeing more of...

Well, there doesn't appear to be a forum dedicated to Acting (much less to acting theory), so I'll just post this here to be done with it...some of this came up in response to Pen Cap Chew anyway,...

EDITED: My original response here was screwed up when I tried to post it...said I wasn't logged in or that an Admin had blocked it or something...will modify later in this space...
OK - trying...

Looks like this is a ghost town thread now...but I'll post a very self-indulgent Behind-the-Scenes still and thank everyone again for watching "Bailey."
I think you can still download the films,...

Cynic: No flak from me about giving your honest opinion in the same terms you critique your own stuff! I've also been either too blunt or misunderstood (here and in the non-online world).

Thanks for the feedback Mark - you're dead-on with the Mamet observation. We weren't consciously trying for that vibe, but I think that's what we got in the screenplay. I don't think we have the same...
Shoulda' mentioned - - if anyone happens to know an investor-type person who is a colonial-era nut...point him/her/them/Mr. Trump my way.
I can't give much away, but our story has an...

Love the "GET OUT OF THE APARTMENT" sentiment! We're in total agreement. In fact, with our first 3 films, we consciously wanted to avoid the "indie film with people talking in an apartment" cliche....

Incredible to hear from you Steph. It was precisely that reaction that inspired us to do the film. We wanted to find some hope and to show that something of the spirit in that text message did plant...

[quote=snodart]Thanks for the new comments everybody.
This stung a bit at first, but I'll be alright :)
This seems to be a general reaction to my comments. I'm writing exactly...

Not sure who you're responding to as I certainly didn't ask you or anyone else who has criticized our film to just "roll over" and compliment it. Nor did I suggest we couldn't have done things...

Thanks Michael - looking forward to seeing your film. Cool name for the production company "Phoenix Butterfly"...reminds me of some rare, Chinese tea...

Nice short entry (haven't seen the longer stuff you've linked).
At least on my system/setup, the dialogue was too low compared to the music.
Beautiful stuff - actors, lighting, shots,...

100% agreement on not being able to please everyone, differences, etc.
Didn't think that "didn't work for me at all" was that strong a statement in the context of many of the reviews here....

Looks very, very good. Love the handheld shot of the guy in the airport - not overdone and leads right into that vague confusion of gates and hallways (how'd you get to shoot in an airport?).

I haven't really watched soap operas, but your comments lead me to wonder how often you hear a fairly angular solo flute line played over a pedal point cello in your average soap opera. I'm guessing...

Well, here goes...I've been waiting to write my response b/c I made the mistake of reading some of what others wrote while I was stuck in QuickTime hell and couldn't view. So here's a review that is...
As I mentioned earlier - on balance this is possibly the best film in the fest (considering story, technical elements, style, acting, etc.).
Great opening - pacing of the edit - interesting...

Overall, I thought this was a case of some great technical facility (acting, lighting, camera work, sound) being misled by a trite, shallow, and mildly mean-spirited story and sensibility.

The music is actually the final section o f a longer piece...We like the music and think it fits with the film - - but based on a few of the comments I think we might need to revise what we do with...
REALLY enjoyed watching this. Great feel for lighting in the bedroom shots. You used Chicago very well and gave your film a big feel in just the right places. Lead actor is very good - VO work is...
Really liked the different lighting designs - gave you several different "looks" which really helped sell the many different chronological checkpoints you hit. Bringing the blue mug back into it as...

After complete uninstall and system tweaking + new install of iTunes/QT 7 + more tweaking...Now downloading all of these films!
Thanks to all who've commented. It's so tempting to ask for...

I'm having a nightmare trying to view anything on my computer at home - - some kind of battling versions of QuickTime which demand to be updated, seem to update, and then do bizarre things: great...
