Why? You do not have to record 4K. That is an *option*. With S16 lenses you can also record 2K RAW or in all cases go down to 1080 / 720 RGB.

As others have indicated: you cannot do scaling in RAW, only in RGB. When shooting RAW you either record the full sensor or you window (crop) it.

Yes, that is correct. I've not had problems with applications running under Windows on the Intel Macs yet as long as they run under that Windows version.

Do you mean will all your applications run under Vista? Probably not. It's new and a lot of drivers / applications have not been tested yet. My advice is to wait.
