I think the biggest reason NOT to get D5200 is the bloody effing square that sits bang smack right in the middle of the picture. No way to turn it off apparently, you can only move it to a corner....

It's not an obvious issue, but it's definitely there with handheld footage. It's not so much the pans as it is the jello that can really hurt shots.

Oleg, f/2.8 at 800 ISO is going to make the comparison very difficult, if not impossible. IMHO,you really need to be at 100 or 400 ISO at f/5.6 or 8.

Thanks for the update. I have to say that it sounds like you are not removing the pulldown. Which would mean that you're actually looking at interlaced footage in MC or AE.

Are you seeing aliasing and moire or is it something else that's not living up to expectations with the 7100?

I've read one person here who's had both cameras say that the 7100 was about 20% sharper in video mode, but I haven't seen any test that point to any difference between the image quality of these two...

I know a guy who bought an F65. Amazing camera, maybe the best on the market... but the rental market has been brutal for him. Who knows why, the camera just didn't catch on like he thought it would....
