That's a good suggestion and exactly what this thread is about; helping the sum of us who have a firewire to laptop problem find a solution.

I agree with everything you just said. But for us poor saps who haven't moved up to the HD world yet, we're still left to capture footage via firewire. I have a DVX100A. I can't even find a laptop...
