Mad Men, or really any of the AMC shows. Also most premium channel shows: Homeland, Dexter, etc. Gotta agree with the Pushing Daisies comment. That show looked fantastic. Sherlock looks pretty great...

Use some tricks to create depth. Foreground, midground, and background. Keep couches/ tables in the middle of the room and not back up against a wall. Also, you can shoot through foreground objects....

    My Lens Fell Apart

I was working on a little music video today and decided to pull out my Zeiss C/Y 50mm 1.7 for a few quick shots. I noticed right off the bat it wasn't focusing properly. It was focused at about 2 ft,...

I'd like to see a mix of the af100 and fs100. Great sensor and lowlight like in the fs100. Hd-SDI and internal NDs like from the af100. Better build than either. Removable monitor that can be mounted...

    [FS: General] Canon 28-135 IS

I've only used the lens 5 or 6 times. It came with my 7D. It's in perfect condition and has had a 72mm Tiffen UV filter on it from day one. Asking $325 shipped.

I just want to watch a Sherlock Holmes whodunit. I'm tired of seeing a bad James Bond knockoff. Where's the mystery when we know the villain throughout the entire film?

Man, I hated Haywire. Terrible cinematography. The lighting was awful and the camera placement and moves actually detracted from the intensity of the scenes. But this thread is about The Grey, and I...

As good as a movie about a guy fighting wolves can be. I really liked it. Great directing--that plane crash was intense

Yeah you can't get any cinema glass for that price range, new or used. I'd recommend the canon if you're doing more run and gun and focusing on your own without a follow focus. Zeiss otherwise, but...

Public property you can shoot all day long--store fronts and all. Private property is a little different. Unless there is a sign or some type of notification preventing you from shooting, you're free...

Yeah, I'm thinking it's some kind of conflict with two manual aperture adjustments. Possibly that one doesn't lock entirely and that the torque from the focus rotation could also shift it slightly....
  15. FS100 Novoflex Nikon G Mount Issue

Had a shoot last week with the fs100 and zeiss zf lenses. We had the novoflex adapter, which made it to where we had to lock the aperture on the lens and adjust using the adapter instead, which...

I guess it would be difficult to mix/adjust levels on the fly when the recorder is sitting on the end of your boom pole.

I use gotprint.com for a lot of my printing. Good quality and super cheap. Not sure about smaller quantities though. Also, never printed posters there--just business cards, postcards, and brochures.

Margin Call was around $3 million and came out in 2011. Not sure how they managed with that incredible cast: Kevin Spacey, Demi Moore, Paul Bettany, Stanley Tucci, Zachary Quinto, Jeremy Irons... I...

  21. Zeiss c/y 50mm 1.7 won't reach infinity

Just like it sounds. Tried it on two 5Ds and a 7D. I'm using a cheap eBay adapter from big_is, which is supposed to work fine. When set to infinity, focus is actually around 20ft. Any ideas?
