Yes, anamorphic would be shot on 4 perf. The advantage is getting that wide aspect ratio but using way more negative for a cleaner image than just cropping or shooting 2 perf.

If it's a wide shot I wouldn't do anything. Just let them be beautifully backlit. Then clean up your close ups with either a light diffusion like 1/2 soft frost or hi-lite, or with a larger bounce...
