There is indeed a ribbon-cable that connects onto the top board that I assume is for the buttons, tally, IR, and headphones.
Technically speaking, you could probably build a little box to live on...

I would definitely try another battery/power-source. I had a similar issue on SRW1--plugged an IDX power supply in and it blinked strange errors, complained about the boards being faulty, etc.

I am monitoring via my recorder (Pix or KiPro). Another option, which I haven't tried, is to use the RCA audio outs under the XLR...which isn't my favorite option.

I record footage on Cinedeck, KiPro mini, and Samurai and don't have this issue. So, I have to assume that SD is doing something that isn't "standard". I'm suspecting that Resolve just has to look...

If I were SoundDevices, I'd be running to the table with a Fix. It's a major annoyance that I'm surprised wasn't caught way earlier in their testing cycles.
