I noticed that during the zoom demo, the camera briefly lost focus. Also, they did not show the start of the zoom out, the video simply cut to it. That makes me suspicious that it really isn't any...

I'm guessing the Mac you used to download the firmware had downloaded and extracted firmware before and tried to resolve the naming conflict by adding a "-2" suffix to the folder name.

Where are the files on the SD card? The only thing I can think of is that they are not in the correct location.

I just successfully updated my HPX-250. One thing I noticed that was different is that there are two firmware folders and images in the ZIP file. With past updates there has only been a FW folder,...

It is indeed in German. The mocked-up AVC-Ultra camera at the beginning of the video is supposed to be available in February of 2014.

Look up the super-cheap online stores, that will give you the answer. They are usually not authorized resellers and are selling gray-market products for which warranty service may not be available....

I checked the file properties in Edius, they seem correct for anamorphic SD. It's not DV compliant because the format is progressive, but that shouldn't matter if your NLE interprets the properties...

Don't forget that you need to factor in the cost of the MicroP2 adapters. You obviously don't need one adapter for every MicroP2 card, but if you are looking at MicroP2 cards as a straight...

Sorry, I completely misunderstood. I don't believe that setup works because you wouldn't be able to install the P2 drivers, since the system would not be seen as having any PCMCIA/PCCard slots.

For what it's worth, the card reader built into my laptop uses an internal USB 2.0 connection, so the speeds are comparable to what you'd get with an external USB 2.0 SD card reader.

I don't believe that card reader is UHS-II compatible, so you wouldn't be able to offload at the full speed that the cards support -- they'd be read like ordinary SD cards. Why not get a AJ-MPD1G?...

I'm not currently using a separate card reader, I'm using the SD card slot built into my Samsung Series 9 Ultrabook. It is not UHS-II compatible and achieves a read speed of about 18MB/sec....

You need a UHS-II compatible card reader with a USB 3.0 interface, since USB 2.0 would be the bottleneck.

I think it would be nice if Panasonic offered the cards in another color besides black -- day-glow orange or yellow for instance. It may seem tacky but has definite advantages in some situations.
