Just moving the 1/4 wire around a bit introduces static (sometimes the audio gets very low or cuts out totally and i have to wiggle the wires around). Does it mean i should just get better wires?

If i were you i would broaden the vocabulary of potential motivations why people create stuff. The corporate drone doing something for his paycheck and a guy spending 10 years of his life on a book...

Are you sure about that? Or are you basing your knowledge on how his work was predigested by others (and thus most likely stripped of any potential for secondary meaning)? I'm pretty sure that LoTR...

The "original sin," or why the work was created in the first place matters tremendously. Even though the films used in that article "might" have some secondary meaning, if that menacing wasn't their...

Rather than simply talking about one religious orthodoxy we should expand the question to... what constitutes bad filmmaking.
There are basically 2 groups of people: (1) people who want to...

Most of pop culture - and all successful campaigns fall under pop culture appeal - is about novelty rather than actual need. As such i'm not sure what we have to learn here.
Adapters is a pain in the butt at best, and at worst, lack of ability to attach the head at all (i'm looking at you FSB8 with your short mounting stud...) if the bowl is deeper than usually. I came...

In my experience the fail point is where the cord is attached to the housing - after enough times the wires inside break but since technically the wire is still touching another wire sometimes you...

From time to time i give quest lecture about lighting to grad students at Columbia University. I've learn a few both practical and theoretical things:

Good work. I spend summers on Shelter Island as my friends has a house there - one of my scripts is set there:

In a year and half when you are throwing those $250 lights into garbage you will be thinking: "and i could have had 1 used Arri 650 for the price of this pile of junk i'm throwing out now".

Ah! The age-old story of cheap gear!!
Basically ask yourself if you are a pro (or plan to be soon enough). If the answer is yes then you will be wasting your money on cheap gear. However if you...

It seems you are shooting with c100. Canon cameras are susceptible than say RED to LED's green spike. Everythime i use my Lite Panels with Canom camera the footage looks great, when with RED... it...
I'm also convinced that Shek's work was entertaining AND enriching at the same time. Thus unless one is simple minded about politics (as one of the above posters admitted himself) then HoC definitely...
Art and entertainment are NOT the same things. Nowhere do i bring those two together.
I can't imagine watching anything just for "entertainment" - i'm too busy running my business to just sit down and spend 1h watching a TV show, a documentary or read a book just to relax without the...
Yes i do, especially after posing an actual question. Since somehow posing that question is being perceived in your twisted logic as taking a dump, you reveal more about your intellectual state than...
I have absolutely no idea how people can keep on watching Tv shows. Genuinely i don't. House of Cards might be a fantastic show for people who don't know much about politics - maybe don't watch too...

Atlas uses ballbearings which require certain amount of motion to start rolling so micro moves are pretty much impossible to do.
