Vegas Pro 12 was so poor at handling .mov files that I finally learned to use Premiere CS6. I hope a new update comes fixes this soon, because I am getting used to the Premiere interface.

It's quite visible on moving water, leaves, and pine fir, but that is at Vimeo compression levels. I am told that the moire is not quite so apparent with the on-board codec at it's full resolution.

Also consider CPM Camera Rigs for their reasonable price and light weight. Make sure your hands will be able to access the camera controls on a cage before you buy. Some cages are super tight.
