In 90% of the situations it's best to explain how sound works to filmdirectors. It sounds foolish, but treath them as "small children which you have to explain where the milk comes from".

You know it...those typical hollywood budget movies where some to-much-self-sure-cop shout's very loud "you have the right to remain silent", as if the other guy is deaf...

Lavs always depend on situations...and on clothing.....But if they can be shown....do it so and don't make it yourself (or the soundguy) to much difficult.
