I've had similar issues. For me, it was the use of dvd +r insetad of dvd -r

they are (ridiculously) different standards. A lot of DVD players supposedly play both, but usually there are problems....

Shutter speed is how long the "shutter" is open for. As in, how long each frame is sampled for. as in not adding more frames, but adding or removing TIME from the EXPOSURE.

As far as I know all canon DSLR footage (550d, 7d and 5d) are the exact same format.

I think the 5d has a few different qualities over the T2i. Better low light performance, meaning less noise in higher ISO...

Well first of all, you can't write to the native canon codec. You can output to a H.264 file but then the settings and exact specs of it are up to you.

And besides, multiple colour grades on top...

This is how I have been thinking. Less gain is more good. Is this wrong?? is there a sweet spot?

I think the original red ones, for example, liked ISO 400.

Ben, if you export a "480P" timeline as 720p, I'm sure it would scale the image, not add weird letterboxes. And, also, if he was using a 480p timeline, his footage would be magnified, not smaller....

In premiere cs5 you right click on the clip in the timeline and select "scale to frame size" or something like that. easy as pie. Hopefully it is simillar for elements 8. If not, then you can...

I shoot ISO 100 on the t2i all day.... you have to disable highlight tone priority.
