Got it fixed.... For the US equivalent of 4 bucks :-)

So i got the replacement cable. Gonna see someone about it tomorrow and see if it can be fixed. However I also bought the sennheiser hd280 pro...and wow this thing really cancels out ambient noise....

I'd stay way from the rode boompole. My own was utter crap, even though it got good reviews...maybe i had a dud. The locking sections were a complete joke, some would lock properly and some wouldn't....

Its a pretty simple test to run to see for yourself, thus not having to believe anyone. I only shoot on 160 and its multiples on my 7d... unless I am forced not to.

If i were buying now I wouldn't be considering canon when the gh2 image crushes canons ( and little to no moire) ...plus they are also cheap. Of course unless you prefer the canon look more.

Yeh I get you on the rental thing. its kinda like where I am...everyone has a dslr...the rental $$ is in support gear cuz they dont really have stuff to go with the cameras like rigs or lights and...

Whats the Priority here? Shooting your short and making it look good or buying gear so you can conveniently shoot it with "a dp/director guy" and rent out our stuff to recoup later on? I ask because...
