I am very pleased with my HPX250 and it has a 5 year warranty. I think the AVCIntra 100 helps to maintain a high quality image. HPX250 reliability is not an issue at this stage as far as I know.

Just about any camera can show moire regardless of cost. Was your detail setting too high?

Why not hire a Nanoflash/Samurai for a day and record to cheap media. You do not really want the added pressure of downloading during shooting unless you have generous scheduled breaks.

Standard procedure is to record mono and then centre it and add some stereo atmos to the mix.
