I just threw up the vimeo link for my film on the page for 77 Spaces. Looks like the regular links are down.
And here's the newly trimmed film, since it looks like the links no longer work.
The quick grade blew it out mostly, but there is some info there, just not sure what the final plan is for those shots... possibly something trippy with a sky replacement. :)
Behind the Scenes:
Here's the rig we had setup for the high speed phantom bits.
A psychological thriller about the contrast of our identities awake vs. asleep.
Here's the trailer for it:
In lieu of the usual fest, yeah I didn't get something finished in time, but I do have a trailer for something creepy and fun!
I bet you're getting sleepy, but you can do it!!! :)
Thanks for the reviews everyone!
Oh and here's some BTS:
There won't be a finalist list this fest. Everyone's a winner this time around. :)
Hey, just loop/cycle that for 6 min. and you have the winning entry right there! :)
Something I say sounds absurd? Never! :)
Imposing an arbitrary limitation, such as saying you'll make a 2 min. version, is a fun creative endeavor. It will seem ridiculous at first because you'll...
77 is just an arbitrary number, and yes it is the number of spaces she has available to remember things that are important to her. I picked the number because it looks and sounds nice with the...
And I really appreciate how your films tend to embrace the smaller ideas and tackle them well. I struggle with this as I want to put a feature story into 6 min. Simple ideas can be just as and often...
Right on. I enjoyed the concept a lot.
I liked the South actor.
And the clean shirts did bug me a bit, but I understand it as well.
Good work. Up there on my list too.
Way to animate!
I had a few qualms, and there are a few shots that are static and linger too long. I think it's a rule in animation that you should always have some movement every shot, and for...
This was fun. I genuinely enjoyed the ride.
I'd definitely encourage you to pursue this as an ongoing web series. It just feels right. :)
Cool stuff Jace!
I loved the authenticity that Jared lent to the production.
Since I know you in person, I know your style more than I would had I only viewed your film.
That said I think...
Production value award right here. :)
My notes have been said all before. The faux shakiness of the rifle was a big one for me.
Comes in high on my list. Good work.
Good work dude!
Opening shot, very cool.
Set was very ambitious and you pulled it off well.
I'd like to see it pushed farther, as in the bad guys being even more nasty so that way the switch...
Loved your leading lady. Way to get 'em dirtied up!
Good work. I like the concept.
As is my rant on several other entries, I think you could cut this down significantly and have a stronger finished product.
Congrats on the entry!
I like this one.
You really had me, thinking you were gonna take it to a place I didn't want it to go... but then you didn't and I was very relieved. As was your intention. :)
Solid work as...
I think you could cut a pretty decent 2 min. version and still get just as many laughs and hit the same points. Worth it to try just as a creative exercise.
I'd like to nominate Bill Christensen for The Fall Award.
Bill participated in three Warfest entries.
In The Dust Settles, he took a bullet and fell to the ground for his swan song.
