In my opinion, some (even 'cheap') prime lenses will easily beat L-glass zoom lenses. I am not alone in this: http://digital-photography-school.com/prime-vs-zoom-lenses-which-are-best

I love it! Catchy tune also!
I own a T2i and there are two feature in the T3i - which is now great value for money as they are being dumped on the market - I wish I had: the articulating screen and the 3x zoom in video zoom...
The fixed 2.8 is a great advantage and the Panasonic is an amazing lens.

I need your opinion.
For almost a year now, I have been putting my time and energy (lots!) and money in a personal passion project about the commemoration of the first world war. I go out and do a...
When you have a fast lens, let's say a 50mm F1.8 and you set it at f4, it will allow exactly the same light to reach the sensor as a 50mm f3.5 lens set at f4. So you really need to use that fast lens...
I have the Rokinon/Walimex Pro 14mm f2.8 and I love it.
I did all the wide shots in this video with this lens.
I had the same with my T2i/550D. Although still under warranty, which is default 2 years in Belgium, I decided to fix it myself. I used Pattex minute glue. Although the rubber grips had expanded a...

Sony Vegas, which I use all the time, doesn't work well with the hpx170 files.
I know about the GH2. I'm not sure about the ergonomics of it. It must be a bit like using the 550D.

I already own a 550D and I have no need for a 5DII. What I like about the FX1000 is the ergonomics and autofocus. No trouble focusing at wide aperture, which can be a real pain with dslrs. I have...

I did a 'one candle test' with the 550D, which I own, and compared it with the camcorder Sony FX1000, I have the option to buy. The ergonomics of these cameras are totally different: the FX1000 has...
Here is a Candle test I made. The T2i footage was shot with a Auto Chinon 55mm @f1.7
Please hear me out. I need your advice about the Sony FX1000
For many years, I have been making amateur videos about the local community for a non-profit.
Yesterday I edited my first real...

This is a early review of it:
1) fluent native avchd playback in preview
2) 10 video tracks
I ordered a chipped adapter with focus confirm. Unfortunately, this doesn't work for the video mode.
Well, isn't it sometimes a matter of being able to shoot a bit un-sharp, or not being able to shoot at all?
Sharpness is often overrated. I see far too many razor sharp videos without story line,...
That's another reason to call it the Terminator 2!
I once dropped a plastic canon powershot A590IS for 1.5m. It bounced back up at least a metre. I picked it up and didn't have a scratch.
This lens will work, yes. It is a really good lens, btw. Make sure you can test it before buying, because why would a person want to get rid of such a fine lens, unless something is broken?

I run Vista (32 bit).
1) Is it going to play native files on my system too?
2) Is the same technology also in Premiere Elements (which is within my budget...)
I'm sorry, English is not my native tongue. I meant: did you put the mike in the more sensitive mode, by accident?
To me it sounds like the auto gain is in overdrive.
Do you hear this when you play back in the camera too?
You haven't accidently hit the sensitivity switch of the mike?
It means that at a very low level, something is messed up in your movie.
A QuickTime movie is made up of a heirarchy of containers,...

Well, sometimes you have to suffer for your art! Take a look at Ansel Adams below:

How about throwing a black velvet cloth over you head and camera, like in the old days?
That still is how the pros do it!
Yex, it has 5x and 10x focus assist. It works very well, I use it with my manual lenses, but slows down everything, of course.
