Biography:

Hector M. Sanchez Jr. is an independent film director, cinematographer, editor, and screenwriter.

Born in New York City and raised in the Bronx, he attended Transit Tech Career and Technical Education High School in Brooklyn before moving to Florida to study filmmaking at Full Sail University. Full Sail University is regarded as one of the premier filmmaking schools in the U.S.A.

In addition to studying full-time at Full Sail University, Hector proved his passion for filmmaking by producing, writing, and directing several short films outside of the school curriculum. Two of these films, Shadows Of The Mind and A Real Hero where both officially selected into the 2012 Enzian FilmSlam Film Festival.

In 2012 Hector approached the British pop-artist Darren Ockert about filming a documentary about the artist’s life and music. The documentary titled Darren Ockert: A Mini Documentary was filmed over a three month period and won Best Short Film at the February 2013 Enzian FilmSlam Film Festival. The documentary is currently showing at film festivals in the U.S.A.

Hector also directed two music videos for Darren Ockert, You Don’t Know Me, which premiered on MTV Networks’ Logo, and Crumbs which will be released late spring 2013.

Hector is the founder of the production company called Mercilless Studio Films and is working on his next short film.
