i use Final Cut Studio 2 on my MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Core 2 Dup 2GB RAM and 256 Grphx Card Bought in Nov 2007. I love it!
I used to use final cut, but am now a sole fan of Sony Vegas.. Just as powerful but twice as good in my opinion, i use this on the mini projects and web edits. But Avid is still the best out there. Does anyone else use Vegas? Or am i just special ed like that...
Yeah I don't think you can ever go wrong with Final Cut. I truly love it. However, I'd like to get my hands on some cool effects (just to have them on deck). Any suggestions to where I can get some?!

I'm very glad to see someone else using Vegas. I've been using it since version 2 back in the Sonic Foundry days. I've never had the money for a Mac and Vegas has been just getting better and better with every release. I think the interface is easier to learn than FCP but it doesn't have the sister programs like Shake and Motion. Those apps are sexy. Anyway, I'm going to stick with Sony for now until I have enough income for a full blown FCS or Avid rig. Vegas is impressive bang for your buck and I'd like to see more people use it.
I use Final Cut Pro, but I have to take a class using Avid in the next couple of semesters, so maybe I'll be swayed that way, but it would take some doing. I love me some Final Cut.
