So I loaded a tape into my DVX100 to check a minute of footage, and a label on the tape apparently prevented the 'hood' on the cassette from opening for the dvx to read the actual tape itself. I discovered this after an S REEL LOCK warning.
Well, i removed the label, popped in the tape again, and the S REEL LOCK was gone. Thank God. But now it doesn't appear to be reading ANY tapes! I tried other tapes to no avail!
Is there something I don't know that could resolve this, like a reset of some sort? Do I have to take this in to get it fixed? WTF! If so, wow, these mechanisms are sensitive. My poor baby.
