1394 Device mode only reading slot 2

I've encountered a strange problem, my Mac (and other macs) can only mount the P2 card that's in slot 2, I can swop the cards and any card will mount, but no card will mount as long as it's in slot 1.

Has anyone experienced this?

The background is that I had some problems downloading, I had a freeze and got the "MICON" error.

After that it's been like this, and it's not the cards as I can make any card work in the #2 slot.

Oh and the #1 slot records fine, it just doesn't mount.

I've had a somewhat similar experience, but if I turned the camera off and removed the card in slot 2 and left it empty, then turned the camera on, the card in slot 1 mounted. I haven't explored this any more than that.
