Just a quick heads up, in the UK - 16gb are in stock at creative video.

I have ordered 4 and they should be here tommorow.

I believe there were 15 or more in stock at present.

Just to clarify, there is no such thing as a "PAL P2 card" or "NTSC P2 card" -- the cards are format agnostic.

With the FS-100, it's a different story, you can't buy a NTSC model from B&H while on a trip to the US and use it with a PAL camera, there are specific models for each format.

I actually thought that might come up when I typed it and yes I have cards from both the US and UK on a PAL spec camera.

It was just a quick way to attract users from the UK and other Pal regions, but you are 100% correct.

Yes, that's about right, but when you add shipping, it comes to near £600. I orderd mine late May, and it came in about a week. Jolly good show!

ROne,

hiya ! How quickly did you get your 16Gb cards? Were they from Creative video or did oyu get them from H Prestons?

Also did you find the firmware upgrade process relatively straight forward?

Thanks Dude !

Btw the Edius Broadcast software is working a dream !

Thanks,

Richard M.

Richard,

The cards were next day from CVP. Prestons have a lead time for the end of june and I needed them by tommorow - which is a shame as I would have sooner purchased from prestons.

Firmware: I'm doing this morning - will let you know - I've got three cameras to do!

I'm glad you're getting in to Edius - looking forward to the 4.5 version.

firmware upgrade is easy on the camera.

But no so clear on the PC. For a start there is no reference on the panasonic site about upgrading to support 16GB cards for PC cards beeing needed. Though I grabbed the latest Vista Driver for this process and this appeared to need two installations before it read the cards.

So yes, it works but the PC end of things is less than seemless.

Dumped 4x16GB worth of footage to the new Acer this morning.

All present and correct - a 16GB card holds 65 mins of SD and dumps to the laptop in about 7 mins. That's a ratio of 10:1 speed!
