I got my DVX shot some stuff, now what? I want to edit but not quite sure what to get I need a new computer any recomendation on what type? what type of processor, graphics card, I'm trying not to spend over 4000 is that enough for a decent computer strictly used for editing?

You can pick up Sony Vegas 7 for around $500ish (I think) and run it on almost any machine. It integrates the best with DVX 24p and doesn't require a blazing fast computer.

If you wanted to build a computer, an Intel Core 2 Duo (2gHz+), 2 gigs of ram, 120gig system drive, and 500gig media drive will blaze with DV footage and will be pretty cheap too. This should only be around $1500 for the software and computer.

for 4 grand, get yourself a mac with final cut studio 2.... spend 99 bucks on the 1 to 1 personal training for final cut as well. thats asuming you live near an apple store. its the best thing i have done.
