My friend has very good laptop with 13.5 inc widescreen lcd. This lcd has resolution about 1080x720. Will that be good enough for focusing 1080 fottage? When you take in to consider that it is 13.5 inch screen, allmost twice the size of commonly used monitors.

If it's 1280 x 720, that's probably close enough. Especially if they run DV Rack 2.0 HD on it, because you can magnify to pixel-for-pixel with that, assuring the capability to get perfect focus.

Be aware that there will be a little bit of lag. Some people find any lag unacceptable, but if you aren't riding focus the entire time, you shouldn't have a problem.

i bought the eye-tv so my macbook pro could be a monitor .what awast of $200. the colors are off, framing was different every time . it was ok for the director to watch but useless for focus or pic setup. i since have the ikan hd v8000 wow , will never have to look through the veiw finder again. made a cool hoodman like cover and shoot in the hot sun all day. worth all the $$$$.

I have a MACBook Pro too.
Has anyone tried HD Monitor Pro? You like? Is it worth the money?
