I shot with the HVX over the weekend. We imported the footage onto a Powerbook that did not have Final Cut installed, so we copied all the footage over AND made disk images of each of the cards. We had issues with two of the .dmg files - they were corrupted so we tried loading the cards again and got the same error. Before I formatted the disks again I watched all of the footage in the camera to make sure it was OK. It played fine so I overrode the cards and we moved on.

When I got back Tuesday and started loading the footage into Final Cut, we had issues again with the folders from those two disks. I also tried importing them into P2 log (not pro) and again they would not load. All of the "CONTENTS" folder (including all of the .MXF files) is there, but there is nothing in the lastclip.txt file for both disks.

Is there anything I can do to get this footage to work?
Thank You!
Jennifer

Jennifer:

What version numbers for OS and FCP?

Also, you have a folder with the lastclip.txt file and six other folders in it?

When you "imported" the footage onto a PowerBook, how was that accomplished?

And finally, don't you have the original folder that you copied from the p2 card when mounted on the PowerBook?

Did you make a disk image of that or made one from the p2 card?

10.4.9 OSX, 5.1.4 FCP

Yes. The lastclip.txt file from this folder is blank.

We put the card into the PCMCIA slot, made a disk image, then copied everything directly from the card to the folder. So we had one disk image AND all of the folders from the card.

And finally, don't you have the original folder that you copied from the p2 card when mounted on the PowerBook?
Yes. That is what I am trying to import into Final Cut/P2 Log and is not loading.

Did you make a disk image of that or made one from the p2 card?
We made a disk image from the p2 card, but it gave us an error message.

Thanks!
