I want to use my new DVX on a wedding shoot. Problem is, it may not arrive until the DAY before the shoot.

The DVX will be used for closeups during a wedding ceremony...with "fair" lighting on the altar....more incandescent light...than sunlight.

Since I may not have time to experiment with the cam....is there a preset you would recommend "other" than "auto mode" that I should use?

I may just resort to my trusty GL1 and not use the DVX....but Id like to.

Thanks
Jeff

Hi Jeff. The DVX's manual mode will pretty much do that - require you to make manual adjustments as you shoot. Whilst you may be familiar with what's required when shooting manual video, I'd suggest you will not be fluent on shooting manual on the DVX.

I'd shoot with the GL1. Get Barry Green's DVX book and familiarise yourself before you test it out on a job. Know how to utilise the custom presets to taste and understand how f6 is not the only preset with 24pa shooting capability (any can be reset to whatever you want). However that's just IMO.

NCJE...
You're right.....I should, and probably would, "chicken-out" and use the GL1 anyway............what a whimp I am. haha

BTW...I have a wide angle lens that I use on the GL1......have you ever used the mm to mm adapters> Probably be vignetting and light loss huh?

thanks,
Jeff

Jeff,

The DVX has a wider angle lens out of the box than the GL1.

Best,
