Hello folks.

What is the most simple way to effectively edit progressive video from a DVX 100b....For instance, what settings on what software...bypassing the technicals...for instance..is it to record at 30 p and since that's the only progressive frame-rate I can find in my Sony software templates (even though the help menu says to choose 24p progressive template, no such template exists...just 30 and 25. I tried a trial 7 platinum..no template there either and no mention of progressive in the help files. I have Sony 6.

I also have Pinnacle. No use there. Searching online I see that Sony works...do I have a dud? Will the ACTUAL 7 platinum work? I tried a Sony fix...won't load. Any ideas, links etc. ? 3 days later, I'm still clueless. I have nothing.

Thanks much.

I am not familiar with any of those programs, but you can shoot 30p or 24p (not 24pA) and edit in a 60i stream (which all programs are able to do). It will retain the cadence of whatever you shoot in (be it 30p or 24p) but it will be rendered out of your program as 60i. It is kind of a half step if you don't have a program that fully supports progressive output.

Everything the DVX shoots it carried on tape in a 60i stream.

Thanks much, but I do want to edit progressive 24, 25, or 30...with no particular tastes regarding pulldown or which algorithm goes with which pixle. Difficult to find answers.

Only the full versions of Vegas support 24p. But they do it very, very, very well.

The Vegas Movie Studio versions (including Platinum) do not.

The trial for Vegas 7 (not Vegas Movie Studio) is here:
